• Contact the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to see if the contractor is a member. A    member in good standing must maintain the BBB’s high standards of excellence.

• Call the Nevada State Contractors Board to check the contractor’s history and licensing. To protect the customer, all contractors are required by law to be properly licensed and insured in the State of Nevada.

• Choose a contractor with an established track record of successful projects and satisfied clients. This is a good indication of financial stability, ensuring the contractor will be around to follow through on any warranty or service issues that may arise.

• Ask for and check client referrals. Just as you do with employees you hire, review their portfolio and references.
